The TransConnect Services Story

Formed in 2014, TransConnect Services (TCS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apex Capital Corp. Apex Capital, a full-service factoring company that has purchased freight invoices from small to medium-sized trucking companies for over 20 years, started TCS so all trucking companies, whether an Apex client or not, have the opportunity to experience the legendary customer service that Apex is known for.

The mission of TransConnect Services is to level the playing field between small to medium-sized trucking companies and the larger fleets. We want each client, no matter the size of their fleet, to not only enjoy the advantage of exceptional customer service, but to also receive the best savings possible. The TransConnect Team

Chris Courts

President and Managing Director

Chris Courts brings over 25 years of leadership and expertise in the fuel card industry to TransConnect Services. Courts previously served as president of EFS Transportation Services, Inc. (EFS) and CEO of First Data’s joint venture PayCargo, a B2B eCommerce company that processed electronic payments in maritime shipping industry.

At EFS, Courts also held roles as IT Manager, National Accounts Manager, Director of Product Development, Vice President of Operations, SVP and General Manager. He has also led the acquisition of Fleet-Tech Systems (FTS) and EFS’ merger with Transportation Clearing House (TCH).

Jim Yates

Director of Sales and Partner Relations

Jim Yates has spent his entire professional career, which began in 1980, working with fuel card platforms. Yates joins the TransConnect family after spending nearly 20 years at EFS, where he served as the Director of Sales and Customer Service and eventually, Vice President in 2011.

He began his career as an inside sales representative with Comdata and moved to the truck stop sales side of the fuel card business.  Yates served as Truck Stop Sales Manager when he went to work for PMT, Inc. and later, held a similar role with TIC, Inc.  Yates also served as the Fuel Manager for Proline Carriers.

Mike Sewell

Software Engineering Manager

Mike Sewell has been in the transportation industry in one way or another for nearly 18 years. Sewell brings 16 years of IT experience to TransConnect Services, with his most recent experience coming from spending the past 8 years as the IT Manager of EFS/First Data Corp.

Sewell began his career in electronics with International Enterprises, Inc. While pursuing a CIS degree he was promoted to Information Specialist and then moved on to be the Application Developer for Nichols TXEN/CSC.

Sewell’s entry into the fuel card business began when he served as the IT Director with Fleet-Tech Systems (FTS), where he led the design, development, and support of all web-based fuel card management applications that support over 1,500 customers.

Greg King

Operations Manager

Greg King has worked in the fuel card industry his entire professional career. King joins the TransConnect team after more than 20 years with EFS where he served as Cash Manager.  

He started his career as a customer service representative at EFS in 1994. During his tenure with EFS, King served as an Account Manager, Distribution Manager, Manager of Accounts Receivable, and Cash Manager in 2008.
