IFTA Report Deadlines For 2023

When your business is trucking, IFTA is always on your mind. Reports for the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) are a four-times-a-year requirement for trucking companies and owner-operators. There are no shortcuts: If you haul loads from state to state, you file IFTA reports.

As we wrap up this year and think about the fourth quarter 2022 IFTA filing due date, which is January 31, 2023, let’s get into the full spate of 2023 IFTA filing deadlines. Remember that IFTA reports are due on the last day of the month following the end of a quarter. If that day is a weekend or a holiday, then reports are due the next business day.

IFTA DUE DATES FOR 2023

Do you already have 2023 IFTA reports on your mind? It’s smart to plan for the upcoming IFTA quarters. So, here are the IFTA due dates for 2023:

  • First quarter – May 1, 2023 (April 30, 2023, is a Sunday)
  • Second quarter – July 31, 2023
  • Third quarter – October 31, 2023
  • Fourth quarter – January 31, 2024

Some states or jurisdictions allow for annual IFTA reporting instead of per quarter. Check with your home base for this possibility.

TCS FUEL CARD MAKES IFTA FILING EASIER

All of us at TCS Fuel understand that keeping up with the necessary paperwork to file IFTA reports can be difficult for busy truckers riding the highways delivering goods. So, all TCS Fuel Card clients have easy access to fuel receipts, mileage records, and trip reports, which is all key information for filing IFTA reports.

In fact, all TCS Fuel Card clients automatically get a quarterly summary that details any transaction containing diesel, reefer fuel, or biodiesel. TCS totals the number of transactions, gallons, and costs, then groups them by state. That’s exactly what truckers need to meet 2023 IFTA deadlines. If you want your report sooner, you can just log into our TCS Fuel client site and access it manually.

IFTA reports and diesel are essential for trucking success. With the TCS Fuel Card, IFTA filing becomes a simpler process. Are you ready to save money at the pump and make IFTA filing easier? Apply for the TCS Fuel Card today. Call us at 844-827-7705 or sign up today!
